RAVENOL Fliessverbesserer is a complex, multi-functional diesel fuel additive, made in Germany based on olefins comprising halogens and esters diluted in the organic solvent. According to GOST 305-82, three grades of diesel fuel are set in Russia depending on the application conditions: Summer - recommended for use at the ambient temperature 0°C and higher; winter - recommended for use at the ambient temperature minus 20°C and higher (at the fuel pour point not higher than minus 35°C) and minus 30°C and higher (at the fuel pour point not higher minus 4°C); arctic - recommended for use at the ambient temperature minus 50°C. The defining physical values setting a season of the diesel fuel application are the pour point of the diesel fuel, °C - the reason of freezing is conglomeration of hydrocarbon crystals into a rigid crystal grating. The pour point defines the possibility of transportation, fueling, draining, and pouring he diesel fuel into the vessels. This value has no practical point for defining the possibility of engine start. The cloud temperature of the diesel fuel, °C - the reason of clouding is formation of the groups of oriented molecules which become centers of crystal formation. The normal pumping temperature of the diesel fuel in the fuel system through the filters is on 2°C higher than the cloud temperature. The limit moment of RAVENOL Fliessverbesserer multi-function additive penetration is defined by the cloud temperature. The additive must be added into the fuel at the temperatures higher than the cloud temperature on 3-5°C. The maximum filtration temperature of the diesel fuel, °C is the temperature when diesel fuel after cooling down can go through the filters at a defined speed. When tested in standard conditions, the maximum filtration temperature is considered the maximum temperature when 20 cm of the fuel go through the standard filter within less than 60 seconds.
